I have published a Nominal Roll of the Participants of Operation HOWARD with short biographical information on each of them. Commanded by Lt Col Mayne DSO. The Mission was to act as spearhead reconnaissance for 4th Canadian Armoured Division in their advance North East towards Wilhelmshaven. “B” & “C” Squadrons, 1st S.A.S. Regt. Location Meppen/Oldenburg, North West Germany. Due to dykes, movement off roads was difficult. Enemy opposition was strong, preventing penetration of their lines. Numerous patrol and infantry actions were fought, adding much to the speed of the Canadian advance. There remain information gaps in nominal roll so please assist where possible https://www.lulu.com/shop/asher-cj-pirt/operation-howard/paperback/product-nvqm4ym.html
