Leonard Caerwyn Owens.

Patrol Sergeant, S.A.S. Phantom. Born in Liverpool, 29 October 1920. Enlisted into the Royal Corps of Signals January 1941. Joined G.H.Q. Liaison Regiment. HUSKY-the Sicily landings. Parachute course 108 at No.1 PTS Ringway March 1944. Report “Quiet but popular – jumped well – a good example”. Attached 2nd S.A.S. Regt in France on DUNHILL and LOYTON. Served on further operations in Germany and Norway. Awarded the Military Medal.

Gerald Donovan Davis.

Patrol Sergeant, S.A.S. Phantom. Born 20 April 1918. Educated at Maidenhead School. Enlisted into the Queen Victoria Rifles May 1939. Joined the Hopkinson Mission 23 February 1940. Attached 2nd Canadian Division 16-18 August 1942 for the Dieppe raid. Parachute course 108 at No.1 PTS Ringway March 1944. Report ‘set good example, excellent jumper – morale high’ Attached 2nd S.A.S. Regt. LOYTON. Betrayed, captured, tortured and finally executed age 26 in August 1944. Buried in Moussey Churchyard, France.

Arthur Leonard Edward Wood.

Patrol Sergeant, S.A.S. Phantom. Born in Norwich, 19 April 1921. Educated at Thorpe Hamlet School. Re-enlisted into the 70th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment 1940. Transferred to Royal Corps of Signals 1939. Joined GHQ Liaison Regiment. Parachute course 108 at No.1 PTS Ringway March 1944. Report. “Worked hard and became a good average parachutist”. Attached ‘A’ Squadron, 1st S.A.S. Regt in France on HOUNDSWORTH. Served on further operations in Germany and Norway. Awarded the Croix de Guerre with Silver Star and mentioned in despatches.

Frederick George Stephenson.

Patrol Sergeant, S.A.S. Phantom. Born 28 May 1917. Son of the Mary and Frederick Thomas Luther Stephenson. Enlisted in the Essex Regiment at Blandford 15 February 1940. Transferred to the Royal West Kent Regiment 12 August 1940. Transferred to the Middlesex Regiment 6 May 1943. Joined G.H.Q. Liaison Regiment May 1943. Parachute course 108 at No.1 PTS Ringway March 1944. Report “Hard working and popular with men – jumped very well”. Attached ‘B’ Squadron, 1st S.A.S. Regt in France. BULBASKET. Further operations in Germany and Norway. Mentioned in despatches March 1944.
